Chris' Adventures

CDT - Day 10

I was well rested after two nights at Susie's place. Today's plan is to get all of my supplies and hopefully start my hike again.

Started the morning with a delicious scrambled eggs and toast breakfast courtesy of Susie. After that I headed to Morning Star, and Gila Bike & Hike for a bunch of supplies. After that I went to the local Food Co-op and then the post office to mail my resupplies to Doc Campbell's and Pie Town. Last stop out of town was for a hamburger and onion rings, before heading up to the Walnut Canyon alternate route to the Gila River alternate.

Susie dropped me off at the Little Walnut picnic area around 11 30.

The hike was mostly up Little Walnut Canyon Rd, with a lot of up and down. Around 2:30pm I started hearing thunder off in the distance. I just hope that stays away from me. I'll be finding a camping spot in a couple of hours, regardless of my distance for the day.

Found a great campsite at 9.74 miles around 4:30. Being in a canyon I didn't want to wander off too far to find a good spot.
