CDT - Day 114 - Sheepdog
There was no rush this morning since the plan was to hike an easy 20 miles to a campsite listed in FarOut. The weather was perfect as we packed up and headed away from the lake.
Today's hiking was relatively easy, with only two significant climbs. The first took us up Big Table Mountain, followed by Little Table Mountain. Surprisingly, both climbs felt like nothing. I guess my legs have gotten used to this by now.
Along the way, we had an interesting encounter with a sheep herder who didn't speak any English. He was trying to ask whether we had seen any of his sheep, and we told him we hadn't. Despite the language barrier, we somehow managed to understand each other and exchange the information we needed.
Shortly afterward, we came across one of the sheepdogs. Luckily, it left us alone. I've heard plenty of stories about these dogs aggressively defending their flocks, but I think this one just wanted to make sure we weren't predators before letting us continue on our way.
