CDT - Day 119 - Morrison Lake

What an absolutely delightful day of hiking.

Last night, I looked ahead on FarOut and figured out a nice camping schedule for the next couple of days. Today's plan was an easy 16-mile hike to Morrison Lake, which has plenty of good camping options. Tomorrow, we'll hike at least 21 miles to get as close as possible to Bannock Pass on Highway 29.

The morning started off a little chilly, which always makes that first cup of coffee so much more enjoyable. We spent the day hiking up and down through forests and along ridges, with beautiful scenery along the way.

We ran into two southbound hikers, Downy and Dipper, and stopped to chat for a while. They gave us some great information about the towns ahead, and we returned the favor with recommendations from the places we've already passed through.

After a few side quests and unofficial alternates, we finally made it to Morrison Lake. We finished the day with 17.32 miles and 4,062 feet of elevation gain. The lake is beautiful, and we managed to score the best campsite.

I also finished listening to Consciousness and the Brain by Stanislas Dehaene.
