CDT - Day 126 - Crazy Descent

Last day of August on trail!

I woke up this morning next to Lena Lake, and once again it was freezing cold. Thankfully, it wasn't quite as cold as the previous morning, and I only needed my puffy jacket for the first few miles of hiking.

Today was supposed to be an easy 20 miles to our planned campsite. I think after more than 100 miles of hiking this section, Hiker Greg and I are just done. The final nine miles today were all downhill, which sounds great in theory, but it was 3,200 feet of descent. My feet are killing me, and I can't wait to get to town.

Tomorrow will be our final night of camping for this section, and then Wednesday will be a really short hike to Chief Joseph Pass. From there, we'll walk another mile to Lost Trail Pass and hitch into Darby for resupply.

I continued listening to A Gentleman in Moscow. I'm really enjoying this book, and I can already see myself listening to it again in the future.

One more full day of hiking, then it's town time.
