CDT - Day 135 - Farm Livin'
Last night was only the third time on the CDT that I've camped on a rancher's property. The first was TLC Ranch, the second was the famous Davila Ranch, and last night was Lampert Ranch. This one was certainly unique.
In FarOut, the property is simply listed as "Trail Angel," but there aren't any signs or other indications that hikers are actually allowed to camp there. As we walked toward the farmhouse, a small kid on a bicycle rode up to us, asked if we needed water, and then casually told us where we could camp.
I guess we found the right place.
This morning was very cold. The inside of my tent was covered in condensation, and there was frost everywhere.
