CDT - Day 137 - Helena
I wasn't expecting to wake up to the sound of rain hitting my tent this morning. The last time I checked the forecast, it was supposed to be clear for days. I can't complain too much, though. It was more of a drizzle than actual rain, and it kept the temperature nice and cool all morning.
The hike itself was an easy 12.5 miles to MacDonald Pass. We reached the highway and managed to get a hitch into Helena within about 15 minutes. The guy who picked us up apparently gives rides to a lot of CDT hikers, because he knew exactly where we wanted to go and dropped us off directly at the Budget Inn Express downtown.
After the long days we've been putting in lately, it was nice to have a short, easy hike and be back in town early.
