CDT - Day 144 - Augusta

This morning was the first time on the entire CDT that I actually hiked in the dark with my headlamp on. We decided to get an early start so we could make it into Augusta as early as possible.

That didn't quite work out.

Even after taking a shortcut along Straight Creek Trail, our scheduled ride wasn't able to pick us up until after 1:00 p.m. We used the extra time to explore the Benchmark area and figure out exactly where we'd need to return to the trail tomorrow.

While we were walking down the road, Olivia pulled over to pick us up. Pudding and I climbed into the bed of the pickup while Greg squeezed into the backseat.

It was a rough and bumpy ride into town, but the dramatic views of the surrounding farms and mountains made it a memorable one.

Another section complete, and another town reached.
