CDT - Day 146 - Chinese Wall
The Chinese Wall is every bit as spectacular as everyone says, especially if you take the short trail up near the pass. From just the right spot, you can really appreciate how far the escarpment stretches into the distance. It's an incredible sight.
After walking along the wall for several miles, Pudding and I stopped for a short break and waited for Greg to catch up. After about an hour, we started to worry that something might be wrong. Just as we were getting ready to backtrack and look for him, he finally appeared.
Greg told us he wasn't feeling well and had actually stopped to take a nap on the trail. He described flu-like symptoms and said he probably wouldn't be able to hike 25 miles today.
We decided to call it after 18.83 miles and set up camp near the Rock Creek Guard Station. Hopefully, a good night's sleep is all he needs to start feeling better.
This section is about 130 miles, and we're carrying enough food for roughly seven days, so we don't have a lot of extra time to work with. For now, we'll see how Greg feels in the morning and go from there.
