Chris' Adventures

CDT - Day 2

Woke up at 6:09am, 62°F outside. It was windy all night, and it rained a few times. Still pretty windy in the morning. Use up 3L of water yesterday and didn't stop at the first water cache. Camp is less than a mile from a water well which should have a lot of water. It takes me off the red line and on to the blue line for but which is a road walk. Oatmeal and coffee before heading out, and amazing poop. I have 67 miles until Lordsburg so I'll need to do about 20 miles per day.

Hit the trail at 7:26. CDTC shuttle drove by at mile 23.33 and asked if everything was okay. Happy trails.

It was insanely windy on this road, which I was walked against. After the short road walk I was back on the trail and there were thousands of grasshoppers. The grasshoppers would end up being a constant annoyance for the next 80 miles. There was another crazy wind gust at mile 35.2, I had to pause for a second so I wouldn't fall over. Still very nice and cloudy towards the end of the day. Stopped at mile 37 for a break, and laid down on my orange mat.
