CDT - Day 20 - Pie Town

Davila Ranch was an absolute gem of a place to spend the night, I slept under a three walled shelter cowboy style. After I woke up I cooked fried eggs, and got ready to head out.

The hike out wasn't anything special, just a 14 mile road walk to Pie Town. I was on the phone for a while taking care of a personal emergency back home which really has put a damper on my mood for the day. It's going to be an ongoing stressful situation that will have me worried for a few weeks. I was even thinking about getting off trail and flying back to Phoenix. But for now my wonderful friend Kimberly is helping out as much as possible.

Anyways, I got into Pie Town and immediately went to The Gatherin' Place II for a burger, onion rings and a six inch blackberry pie. My stomach hadn't been that painfully full in quite a while, and it felt amazing.

Next I went with RoadDogg to go checkout The Toaster House, which I was not impressed with. It's clearly fell into disrepair, the pantry has evidence of a rat infestation. The bunk rooms were all disgusting.

I left the Toaster House and went over to the brand new CDT Bunkhouse on the highway near the Gatherin' Place II. The Bunkhouse is amazing, and 100% better than the Toaster House. MK, Zack, Molly and myself all decided to sleep inside the bunkhouse in the main hangout room. RoadDogg decided to stay at the Toaster House. The plan for the morning will be for the four of us to get breakfast at the Graherin' Place II before heading out to our next destination which is TLC Ranch, about 15 miles up the road.
