CDT - Day 21 - Emergency in Phoenix

Sleeping at the Bunkhouse was a nice change of pace from sleeping outside. All four of us slept in a little bit, the next hike was only going to be about 15, with a destination called TLC Ranch. There is usually less of urgency to get up and go when the hike is a short distance. MK and I also needed to pick up packages at the local post office. We decided to grab some breakfast at The Gatherin' Place II prior to walking across the street to the post office.

I decided this morning, after tossing and turning all night worrying about my storage unit, to go back to Phoenix for a week and deal with the emergency. Someone broke into my storage unit and I needed to be there in person to figure what was stolen and ruined.

The owner of the Bunkhouse just happened to be leaving for Tucson today and offered me a ride. I had actually purchased a plane ticket and was working on getting a ride from Pie Town to Albuquerque, so I cancelled my flight instead. Monika and her husband travel to Tucson so this actually worked out well. The plan was to stay in Tucson for the night, get a rental vehicle the next morning and head to Phoenix.
