CDT - Day 22 - Back in Pie Town
It feels good to finally be back on the trail after about a week off. My friend Mike offered to drive me from Phoenix straight to Pie Town on Monday. When we arrived in Pie Town we had lunch and pie, as one does when they visit The Gatherin' Place-II. I spent the night in The Bunkhouse with my goal to hike to TLC Ranch.
The next morning I had breakfast with a few other CDT hikers, and then I hit the road to TLC. The hike was nothing special, all dirt road, no shade, and hot. This was my second time using the umbrella so far on the CDT, and it made a huge difference. When I arrived at TLC I was greeted by a few hikers, a couple of whom I had met the previous day. TLC Ranch provides a nice rest area with ice cold water, shade, outhouse and a few spots to camp. Tomorrow I'll be waking up early and push for at least 20 miles to find a campsite in the Cebolla Wilderness area.
