Chris' Adventures

CDT - Day 23 - Cebolla Alternate

After a good night's rest at TLC Ranch I set out to hike at least 22 miles to the Cebolla Wilderness via the brown line. The first 12 miles were all flat, boring and foot destroying road walk. I started the walk early to beat the heat which allowed me to move fast.

As I approached mile 12 a trail angel named Jen pulled up and offered me an ice cold ginger ale and banana, I was in heaven. I had been craving a ginger beer all morning and this hit the spot.

The trail magic gave me the mental and physical boost I needed to make it into the Cebolla Wilderness and hike another 10 miles for a total of 22 miles. I found the perfect campsite around 3:30 and called it a day.

I was just about to close out this journal entry and then it started raining hard at 4:30, I'm so glad I set up camp early.

Tomorrow I'll hopefully be hiking another 20+ miles.
