CDT - Day 35 - Rain and Mud

We all agreed to sleep in until 6am. The campsite was fantastic, it overlooked a valley and we had a nice sunrise. After breakfast we said goodbye to Toe, Howard and Robinhood. Pyro stayed behind to hike with the rest of the way to Chama.

The majority of the hike was amazing, the hills and mountains reninded me of something out of Lord of the Rings. I encountered a lot of downed trees in the forest, more than I had ever seen before. They made hiking slow and cumbersome.

After about 18 miles it started raining, and it continued for hours. I had to put on my rain jacket and rain pants and hike in the rain for another 8 miles. Guardian found a good campsite somewhat protected by the rain. My rain pants, and shoes were covered in mud. I was so glad to get into my tent and out of my wet clothes.
