CDT - Day 42 - Snow, Mud and Ice
For the first time on the CDT, I woke up to frost on the inside of my tent. The condensation near my feet had frozen overnight. Jammin and Pacman hit the trail before I did. This was by far the most difficult day of hiking on the CDT so far. There was so much snow, ice, and mud. I wore my microspikes for most of the day, and on a few sections I used my ice axe. After 18 miles, we decided to call it a day and camp before the mountain pass. We found an amazing campsite nestled in a mountain basin, complete with a fire ring, trees, and a nearby stream.
