CDT - Day 48 - Creede

It was freezing cold this morning when I woke up in my tent. The previous night had been nowhere near as cold, so I didn't bother bringing out my extra layers or my quilt liner.

The silver lining was that the cool weather persisted for the entire hike out of the wilderness and into Creede. It was downhill the whole way—about 1,300 feet of descent—and pleasant all the way into town.

My first stop in Creede was Opie's for a nice breakfast and coffee, followed by Sweet T's for a chocolate malt. I spent some time planning out my day and the next section of the trail.

I wasn't sure if I was going to stay in town, but the more time I spent there, the more I enjoyed it. Creede has everything a thru-hiker needs, including restaurants, hotels, gear shops, and resupply stores.
