CDT - Day 7

I woke up at 5:15 this morning, it was cold with a little bit of a breeze. Last night there was a lot of wind, and it was hard to sleep. I only grabbed a liter of water yesterday so I need to backtrack about a third of mile to get more water from the cache. The next next few water spots up trail were a little sketchy. Putting the athletic tape and zinc oxide on my rashes is taking up valuable time, but at least I got up earlier today.

I hiked up Burro Peak and reached 8018 feet, my highest elevation on the CDt so far. It was a very windy day, and almost a little cold. There were downed trees everywhere, and widowmakers ready to fall at any moment. I walked past each one carefully.

Took a break under a tree 9.44. A couple of CDT hikers walked passed me and said hello. They were moving fast.

Found water at an intermittent creek at 11.15 around 2:10pm. This should be enough water until the next water source.

After 14.7 miles and 3,189 of elevation gain I set up camp, ate dinner and passed out.
