CDT - Day 91 - Sweetwater River
During the early morning hours, the clouds rolled in, creating a spectacular backdrop for the sunrise. They also set the tone for the rest of the day, bringing cool, comfortable weather. By noon, we had hiked just over 12 miles while enjoying the overcast skies. I stopped for a break near a gate just as it began to sprinkle—a welcome change from yesterday, when we spent the entire day hiking under a blazing sun. The sun finally made an appearance during the last five miles, and we decided to push hard so we could camp near the Sweetwater River. Camping beside the river was the perfect way to end the day. By the time we pitched our tents, we had hiked a total of 30 miles.
