Elephant Mountain - 1/11/2026
On Sunday, Katie, and I explored the Spur Cross Conservation Ranch Area near Cave Creek. I created a custom route in AllTrails which took us from the Spur Cross Trail, and detoured along the Metate Trail to see the Solar Oasis. From there we took Spur Cross Trail to Tortuga and then the Elephant Mountain Trail. On the way down we took the Boca Grande Trail to the Dragonfly Trail, and walked along water to see the Jewel of the Creek Preserve. We saw lizards, a hawk, and even a bobcat.
