Humphreys Peak - 10/12/2025
It's been a few months since I last climbed Humphreys Peak. This week I had been watching the weather closely, and made a last minute decision to head up to Flagstaff for the hike. With the cooler weather, and morning rains, I didn't have to start my hike at 7am like I did in July. I started the hike today around 9am, and it was perfect. The Snow Bowl area was very busy due to the fall colors. The aspens were golden, and it beautiful. By the time I was done with the hike, the parking lot of had completely filled up. All of the parking areas along Snow Bowl road were packed with cars. Most of the people were out enjoying the golden aspens. Those of us climbing Humphreys Peak had an incredible view of the yellow leaves from 12,633 feet. I'm hoping to make up this mountain at least one more time this season, maybe even a night hike for a sunrise summit. Who's with me?
