Humphreys Peak - 3/21/2026
This was my second Humphreys Peak hike this year. The weather was perfect, only 51°F at the summit with 37 mph winds. The hike was rough with all of the snow and ice. Above 11 thousand feet it was difficult to find the trail, and I ended up off trail a few times. The silver lining with the snow was that it made it "easy" to cut across some of the switchbacks to find the trail. There was definitely a lot of waist deep postholing, which very quickly drained my energy. But I made it, and I'll be doing it again next weekend! 😀😅
Afterwards I met a good friend for a fantastic dinner at Merkin Vineyards Hilltop Winery & Trattoria in Cottonwood. 🤤
