Inaugural Phoenix Half Marathon - 12/13/2025
I accomplished one of my big goals for the year, running the Phoenix Half Marathon. My training plan was to run five days a week, with Saturdays being my long run. Each Saturday I added an extra mile, with a goal of running 11 miles the week prior to the race. The plan fell apart slightly due to all of my weekly hiking, and backpacking adventures. The longest distance I ran prior to the race was eight miles. I also had a major setback six days prior to the race, where I had broken my wrist, finger and banged up my knee, in a hiking accident. My wrist should be good in about three weeks, and my finger will be an additional four weeks. I ran the entire race a little slower than I planned for, but still managed my goal time of 2.5 hours or less. I'm already signed up for 2026 race.
