Weavers Needle - 12/6/2025
Today I hiked Weavers Needle Loop Trail with several friends from Facebook. I drove my car on a very rough dirt road, and managed to make it to the trailhead without damaging my car. The recent rains had washed out parts of the road making it a little sketchy. From the parking lot we were able to see several bighorn sheep on the side of the mountain. You can kind of see them in the first photo below. I'll be bringing my real camera the next time I do this hike.
We started the hike at around 7:50 AM, and the temperature at the trailhead was about 35°F. After a few minutes we quickly warmed up, and enjoyed the perfect weather all day long. The high for the day was only about 64°F. I wore my shorts, sun hoodie and hat, and I was very comfortable all day long. The total mileage for the hike was about 13.3 miles with 3000 feet of AEG. Overall I would rate this as moderate hike.
After the hike we stopped at Handlebar Pub Grill in Apache Junction for some food.
